I understand these are impossible to replace, and therefore very high theft items. Before they get stolen and damage done to the car getting them off, I want to remove them and put them safely away somewhere.

Does anyone know how these are attached? Just 2 sided tape, or do they have posts into holes in the body?

I had my local body shop remove the Hertz emblems from my 2007. They were held on with tape. There are no holes in the fender.

Thanks gents, that's exactly what I needed to know. I'm an old pro at removing taped on emblems... both dealership installed sales plackards, as well as on my Challenger, I removed all the emblems and had them black chromed, then reinstalled them. Not hard once you get the technique down. Takes about 5 minutes per emblem.

Little place in Houston, Texas called Atlas Plating. http://www.atlaschrome.com/ . They were great to work with, reasonably priced, and did outstanding work.
